The RDA can produce a wide range of strategic development documents, whether general in scope (e.g. regional development programmes or development strategies for towns, municipalities and microregions) or focusing on specific aspects of development (regional innovation strategies, brownfields regeneration strategies, and similar). Since the establishment of the RDA in 1993 we have contributed to all of the key strategic documents of the Moravian-Silesian Region, including territorial development programmes and the latest Regional Development Strategy for 2009-2016.
Our strategic planning activities focus on the following tasks:
- compiling socio-economic analyses (profiles) of municipalities / towns / cities / microregions / regions / specific territories
- conducting surveys among the general public
- conducting field surveys within companies and other organizations
- organizing and moderating meetings of working groups and strategic steering groups
- goal-setting: development visions, priorities, measures and implementation projects, including budgeting and analysis of funding opportunities (from EU, national and regional funding instruments)
- drawing up action plans
- drawing up SEAs (strategic environmental assessments) in accordance with Czech legislation on environmental impact assessment (including assessments by certified experts)
- presenting results to the general public and municipal/regional bodies
- managing and coordinating the strategic planning process
